A Little Bit About Me

I work in the NHS, as a Principal Clinical Psychologist and have led on the start-up and development of an innovative Specialist Trauma-Informed Perinatal Trauma and Loss Service (PETALS) across Greater Manchester.

I am personally and professionally passionate about the NHS, my work, and the relationships with the people I work with — both colleagues and clients.

I work clinically in a trauma-focused way, supporting people following perinatal trauma and perinatal loss, using a variety of therapy models as well as supporting the team through supervision, training, reflective practice and clinical leadership.

Prior to this, I developed the psychological pathway for the newly commisioned perinatal teams. I have worked in the Children and Parents Service (CAPS, under 5's Service), where I developed a passion for working with children and families, leading on parenting groups, consultations with families, bonding and attachment work and I have worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. In my doctorate training, I have worked in neuropsychology, older adults memory services and adult mental health and therapy services across Greater Manchester.

I have worked across services providing one-to-one therapy as well as developing and running group-based psychological therapy.

I often find myself helping people who have had therapy before and perhaps it hasn't quite worked out as hoped. I often help people who have difficulties in relationships and this may show up in the therapy relationship. People may find trusting someone difficult. We can work through this together.
